Tillie, Elleby reportedly

expected to return to school

Gonzaga forward Killian Tillie is expected to return to the Zags for his senior season, the Stadium sports network reported Tuesday.

Freshman forward CJ Elleby of Washington State also plans to return to school, Stadium reported.

Today is the deadline for players to remove their names from the June 20 NBA Draft and return to school.

“HUGE news for the Zags,” Jeff Goodman of Stadium tweeted of Tillie. “If he can stay healthy, could be a guy who moves into first-round lock conversation a year from now.”

That’s a big “if,” as injuries have hampered the 6-foot-10 Tillie his last two years as a Zag.

Tillie was one of five Bulldogs to declare early for the NBA Draft — though one, freshman forward Filip Petrusev, said when he declared he planned to return to Gonzaga. On Tuesday, he made that official.

Junior forwards Rui Hachimura and Brandon Clarke are expected to remain in the draft, where both could be taken in the first round.

Zach Norvell Jr., a redshirt sophomore guard, told reporters in Atlanta earlier this month he planned to stay in the draft.

Idaho women’s soccer to

host SEC foe in Kibbie Dome

MOSCOW ­— Idaho’s women’s soccer program has added another marquee matchup to the home schedule in 2019, with Mississippi State coming to the Dome on Sunday, Sept 1.

Kickoff is currently scheduled for 3 p.m., but is subject to change.

The game marks the first time that a Southeastern Conference opponent will make its way to Moscow for a single-game meeting with the Vandals. The only other time a current SEC opponent made the trip to Moscow for a team sport came in 2014, when Missouri attended the Idaho Nike Invitational volleyball tourney in Memorial Gym.

It is also the first meeting between Idaho soccer and an SEC opponent, regardless of location.

Earlier this month Idaho announced that Boise State would be coming to the Dome for the regular season opener. The remainder of the Idaho soccer schedule will be out later this week.
