Frances Guletto

Oct. 27, 1917 — April 18, 2019

Frances Helen Guletto, age 101, of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, passed away peacefully at Country Comfort Residential Care in Coeur d’Alene, surrounded by family, Hospice and caring staff after five and a half years of attentive, loving care. Born to Louis and Teresa Marcheso, she was the seventh of eight children. She married her childhood friend’s brother, Philip Edward Guletto, and theirs was a lifelong love story.

With her husband and brothers serving in the military during World War II, Frances worked and volunteered on the home front, earning, like so many other women, an unsung place in the Greatest Generation.

She grew up in Bronx, N.Y., where she and her husband continued to reside for 20 years before moving to Los Angeles and then to Las Vegas. Her home was always open to relatives and friends and many of them visited often. She spent five years in South Carolina before eventually moving to Coeur d’Alene at age 94 to be closer to family, who devoted themselves to ensuring her health and happiness.

Frances enjoyed spending time with family and friends each day and holidays were her favorite, especially if children were involved. So many stories were passed along to them; both old and new, young and old. Frances was preceded in death by her beloved husband and as one of the last family members of her generation, she will be missed by all the nieces and nephews she leaves behind.
