Resort GM earns tourism award
COEUR d'ALENE — Bill Reagan, general manager of The Coeur d'Alene Resort for 37 years, was honored with the Coeur d'Alene Chamber of Commerce's Kyle M. Walker Champion of Tourism Award on Tuesday.
The award, named after a former Chamber of Commerce executive director, honors those in the community who have distinguished service to the promotion of tourism. Walker was also a writer and filmmaker.
Reagan has served on the Chamber of Commerce's Convention and Visitors Bureau since its inception, the Coeur d'Alene Downtown Association and is a past chairman of the Chamber of Commerce board. He is a graduate of Washington State University's hospitality program.
Reagan was also previously the general manager for the Best Western Plus Coeur d'Alene Inn for four years.
"Bill is super committed to the promotion of tourism," said Steve Wilson, president and CEO of the Coeur d’Alene Chamber of Commerce. "He's done a great job of volunteering his time and energy in addition to marketing and running The Resort itself."
Firehouse Subs was presented the chamber's Business Development Committee's award, while the nonprofit Excel Foundation, which raises funds for school classroom projects, was presented the Education Committee's award.
