BAYVIEW: No means No
The citizens of Bayview are once again being sold an over-engineered bill of goods with fear and half-truth. The engineer’s report says our water tank can easily be rehabilitated and last for at least 25 more years. Yet advocates for our small town going $2 MILLION in debt cry, “The tank is falling! The town will burn!”
Farragut State Park fixed a twin of our water tank, pump and supply lines for $350,000 a few years ago. What is wrong with this picture? I say, “Follow the money.” Who is going to profit from saddling Bayview with debt for a water system designed to serve future development?
There is no emergency. There is no water storage or pressure problem that can’t be fixed by much less expensive repairs and upgrades. The costs are inflated and the working class residents of Bayview should not be priced out of town by having to finance development we don’t want to happen.
