Richard L. ‘Dick’ Aurich, 83

Richard L. “Dick” Aurich, 83, left this world to go camping, hunting and fishing in Heaven on May 6, 2019. Richard was married to Nancy L. Winters Colley for 17 years and Mary L. Sadler Aurich for 48 years. Born in Sidney, Neb., in June 1935, Dick was the son of Bessie Evelan Billiter and Erwin Arthur Aurich. He was raised in Nebraska and lived in Nevada, Colorado, Arizona and Idaho.

Dick had a successful career with Pepsi Cola but retired from civil service after 28 years, completing both national and international assignments. In his later years, Dick loved to “negotiate” in yard sales, flea markets and gun shows. Not only did Dick have a profound love for the outdoors, but he also enjoyed listening to country music, was an excellent dancer and was quite the bowler and horseshoe player. You could also find him and Mary touring the country on their Honda Goldwing motorcycle.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; his children, Ruth Vogt, Debra Shipman, Darlene Panas and Rick Aurich; step-children, Sara Perkins, Sandra Holt and Susan Wiley; his grandchildren, Michelle, Stephanie, Kevin, Nathan, Joshua, Stacey, Misty, Steven, Jeremy, Christie, Hannah, Rebecca, Brian, and Jacquetta; 15 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Rodney and Clyde. Preceded in death by his parents; two siblings, Alvin Aurich and Agnes Hart; one son, Richard Jr. and one grandson, Abner.

Rest in peace beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother. No services will be held at the request of Dick. The family wishes to thank the Coeur d’Alene Fire Department, Northern Lakes Fire Department and Hospice of North Idaho for all the compassionate care.
