Meeting will discuss Lake Pend Oreille fishery

The Lake Pend Oreille fishery will be discussed at a public meeting scheduled next week in Ponderay.

Idaho Fish and Game biologists will share the latest research and population trends of the lake’s kokanee, trout and warm water species such as walleye, at the 2019 State of the Lake meeting between 6 and 8 p.m. April 4 at the Ponderay Events Center in the mall at 401 Bonner Mall Way, Suite E.

Agenda items include a report on the latest expansion of an acoustic tracking system that monitors fish movements across the lake. Also, the latest angler incentive program targeting walleye and lake trout will be discussed.
