Boise State baseball
team will use
Memorial Stadium in 2020
BOISE — Boise State Athletics has entered into an agreement with the Boise Hawks for use of Memorial Stadium in nearby Garden City by the Broncos’ baseball program during the 2020 season.
Boise State, bringing back baseball for the first time since 1980, had hoped to have an on-campus stadium to play in by 2020, but the proposed stadium won’t be ready by then, the school said last month.
Following its first game in 40 years — at Washington on Feb. 25, 2020 — the Broncos will return home to host Northern Colorado in a four-game series, Feb. 28-March 1. The series with the Bears kicks off an 11-game homestand.
A pair of former Coeur d’Alene Vikings, freshman outfielder Jayce Bailey and senior outfielder Michael Hicks, are redshirting this season at BSU. Hicks played one season at Yavapai College in Prescott, Ariz., and two seasons at the University of Portland.
