LEWISTON — The Coeur d’Alene girls swept in girls doubles to open the season against the Lewiston Bengals on Tuesday in Lewiston.

The Bengals won the match 7-5.

“It was nice to get the rust off,” Coeur d’Alene girls coach Laura Taylor said. “We got a lot of matchees in, played a lot of three-set matches. It was just nice to be outside and get a feel for it again.”

Justin Jaworksi notched a three-set win for the Viking boys.

“I thought we played well,” Coeur d’Alene coach Dan O’Connor said. “For our first time outside and being in a real match, the kids played hard. It would have been nice to get a few more wins, but the kids played well. I was proud of our guys.”

Coeur d’Alene is scheduled to host Lakeland on April 2.
