DALTON: Reasons for recall

| March 5, 2019 12:00 AM

An editorial in this newspaper recently asked why voters in Dalton Gardens were pursuing a recall election rather than wait for another eight months until the next regular election.

The answer is simple. Eight months is too long to wait, and only three of five council members are up for re-election. The fact that every vote by the Council is unanimous, and virtually no discussion takes place at the meetings makes it clear that the Mayor and Council are of one mind on what they intend to do.

Merely replacing three of the Council Members is not enough to stop what is happening now. In eight months they will have time to finalize their plans, making it nearly impossible to stop them by a future city council.

We have to stop this now. Vote for the Recall on March 12th.
