SHOVEL: Sidewalk travelers need it
Many thanks to all those folks who faithfully shovel their sidewalks for us walkers and USPS folks who have to try to climb over thigh-high berms.
For those who don’t, maybe the California immigrants, here’s the deal: You are required to clear your sidewalks, both sides for those on corners.
Also, businesses aren’t doing a great job, especially those on East Sherman.
If you are a snowbird, make arrangements before you go to get your property done. If you aren’t physically able, there are numerous groups, churches, etc., who provide this service for no charge. Folks, including Realtors who are responsible for vacant properties, also need to provide for clearing. The corner of Seventh and Lakeside is a great example.
Those of us who are out everyday on the sidewalks, thank you.
