SCHOOLS: Failure to educate
Debbie Critchfield can’t spell “into?” Probably not her fault, it’s the Coeur d’Alene Press’ proofreaders who graduated from the terrific “public education system.”
As a former business owner for 15 years in downtown Coeur d’Alene, I can attest to the fact that ALL, that’s correct, ALL of our former employees couldn’t balance their own checkbooks, couldn’t make change for customers and couldn’t write a paragraph without mistakes in spelling and grammar. They couldn’t even write legibly … some were so illiterate they didn’t know anything about the Korean and Vietnam wars and very little about World War I and II. I doubt they even knew much about the Revolutionary War, the American Range Wars or the Mexican-American War. Where is “history” taught?
Schools are a disgrace, teachers are as illiterate as the kids they are trying to educate. Passing children from grade to grade so they feel good is no way to educate. Just stand outside a school and watch the students — they have no idea how to walk, talk or dress themselves because their parents and grandparents, even their great-grandparents, weren’t taught properly.
