DRIVERS: Out of control
How many more people have to get seriously injured or even killed at traffic lights around Coeur d’Alene and Post Falls, etc., before certain law enforcers do something about it?
You see it multiple times in a day driving around town: People following way too closely, distracted by cellphones, eating, putting on makeup. What’s even worse? The people who can’t wait, couldn’t leave the house or somewhere a little sooner and are in a rush and run the red lights.
Coeur d’Alene and Post Falls are growing. More people are on the roads, especially teenagers and the elderly. What has to happen to get this issue of traffic light violations brought forward? One person dying isn’t doing it. Seriously injured people aren’t doing it.
I would rather get somewhere late than possibly causing an accident and hurting myself or someone else because I couldn’t wait one to two minutes more. I say, “Get there in one piece, not pieces.” Don’t be selfish. Value everyone’s life, not just your own. That one to two minutes won’t matter if you’re dead or hurt someone else.
To the powers that be, please think about this issue. It’s only getting worse.
