Ex-T-Wolf Simpson's big night sparks Cardinal women

COEUR d’ALENE — Lake City High product Keara Simpson had 22 points and 17 rebounds, leading the North Idaho Cardinals past the Yakima Valley Yaks 81-69 in a Northwest Athletic Conference game Saturday afternoon at Rolly Williams Court.
Alex Carlton scored 23 points for NIC (16-4, 6-2 NWAC), which outscored Yakima Valley 24-6 on second chance points.
Kamri Von Oelhoffen had 33 points and 10 rebounds for Yakima Valley (11-9, 2-6).

COEUR d’ALENE — As basketball games go, Saturday’s was one for the reserves of North Idaho College.
NIC, sparked by 77 points from its non-starters, hammered the Yaks in NWAC play at Rolly Williams Court.
Four of six reserves in the game for NIC were in double figures, led by Iaian McLaughlin with 19 points. RayQuan Evans had 21 points and five rebounds for NIC (19-2, 8-0 NWAC), which travels to Treasure Valley of Ontario, Ore., next Saturday at 3 p.m. PST.
Yakima Valley is 5-15, 2-6.
