The pharmacy at the Coeur d’Alene Shopko will close under the company’s restructuring plan.

“As part of the Chapter 11 bankruptcy process that is going forward, we have made the difficult decision to exit our pharmacy business,” said Shopko media contact Michelle Hansen.

The company announced the restructuring on Jan. 16 along with a list of stores and pharmacies in multiple states that are closing. At that time, neither the Coeur d’Alene store nor its pharmacy were on the list.

There is no indication at this time whether the Coeur d’Alene store will be among those to close its doors.

Shopko is selling all pharmacies through a court-supervised auction that happened Wednesday, Hansen said. Three Shopko pharmacies in Idaho have already closed — one in Nampa and two in Boise.

Managers at the Coeur d’Alene location declined to comment about when the Coeur d’Alene pharmacy would close.

The timing of a pharmacy closing depends on when buyers take over prescription files.

A list of pharmacies that have closed or will close can be found on the company’s restructuring website, info.shopko.com. The list will be maintained and updated.

Shopko will notify pharmacy customers via U.S. mail when a pharmacy will close and to where their prescriptions have been transferred, according to the restructuring website.
