Phyllis Elaine O’Neal (Wagner), 87

Phyllis Elaine O’Neal was born on July 14, 1931, in St. John, Wash. She moved with her family to Post Falls, Idaho, when she was one year old. She died of natural causes at Deaconess Hospital on Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2019. Phyllis went to Post Falls public schools and graduated from Post Falls High in 1949.

She married Donald O’Neal in 1951 and they had three children: Peggy, Michael and Dan (Tami). She has six grandchildren: Jesse and Justin Grout, Jennifer (Gayton), Colleen (Velazquez), Jamie and David O’Neal. She enjoyed her 21 great-grandchildren very much.

Phyllis loved all her dogs, especially her Buster. She loved bowling, sewing and having the whole family over on holidays. She loved to spend time with her good friends, whether it was at bunko or her birthday club. She enjoyed a good martini and loved the Martini Bar. She enjoyed gambling at the casinos in Worley and Bonners Ferry, Idaho, and Chewelah, Wash.

She was fun-loving and a great friend. She went to Cutting Loose every Wednesday to get her hair done and Chris always made sure her nails looked great. She loved to make and buy tops. If asked where she got her shirt, she would always say, “in my closet.” She loved to buy clothes and shoes, especially at Herberger’s in Missoula, Mont.

We will be having a memorial at 4 p.m. on Saturday Jan. 26, 2019, at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 501 E. Wallace Ave., Coeur d’Alene. Please, no flowers. Memorial contributions can be made in Phyllis’s name to the Kootenai County Humane Society, in Hayden, Idaho.
