COACH: Good man gone

The news of the firing of Pat Whitcomb as NIC’s wrestling coach was devastating to me. I want to thank Coach Whitcomb for all that he has done for this community.

Thank you for sending your wrestlers to read to the grade school kids. Thanks for being the surrogate dad to all of those wrestlers who come here from all over the U.S. Thanks for keeping the Tri-State Tournament alive, bringing in millions of dollars to the community over the 49 years of its existence.

Those of us who have been involved in wrestling for years know how much you have helped the sport and the kids involved in the sport.
