WENATCHEE, Wash. — As the game wore on, North Idaho College just got a little more aggressive than host Wenatchee Valley in Wednesday’s Northwest Athletic Conference matchup.

As for sophomore Alphonso Anderson, well, he was just on all night.

Anderson had 33 points and 24 rebounds — 20 points and 14 rebounds coming in the first half — for the Cardinals in a 110-85 win over the Knights.

“He played great,” NIC coach Corey Symons said of Anderson, a Utah State signee. “He had a huge game for us.”

NIC (15-2, 4-0 NWAC) outscored Wenatchee Valley 66-50 in the second half to pull away. NIC is the lone unbeaten team in the East Region through four games.

“We didn’t shoot the ball really well, but got a little more aggressive going to the basket in the second half,” Symons said. “It was a big win, and a tough trip. It’s a tough place to play.”

Malik Parson scored 28 points for Wenatchee Valley (8-7, 0-4).

NIC returns to action on Saturday at Blue Mountain of Pendleton, Ore., starting at 4 p.m.
