Thomas Alan Simon, 58

Thomas Alan Simon passed away Dec. 30, 2018, in Bonney Lake, Wash., from cancer. He was 58 years old.

Tom was born Oct. 17, 1960, in Sacramento, Calif., to Leo Raymond and Lenora Jean (Woods) Simon. He grew up in Lincoln, Calif., before the family moved to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, in the summer of 1975.

Tom graduated from Coeur d’Alene High School in 1978. He had many talents, including auto body restoration and the construction of pole buildings. His interests included his family, friends, hunting, fishing, camping, the search for arrowheads, huckleberry picking and anything that allowed him to be in the great outdoors.

Tom will forever be remembered for his big heart, feisty personality, and his love for his family. He is survived by his two beautiful daughters and their blooming families: Lindsey Barcklay and Autumn (Ryan Kurkowski) Wood; his three precious grandchildren: Gabriel Barcklay, Wynter Wood, and Ronan Kurkowski; his mother Lenora Simon; his six siblings: Terri (Theo) Simon-Jackson, Arnold (Anne) Simon, Bill (Cindy) Simon, Diana Krentz, Jim (Alana) Simon, and Jane (Dave) Atwood; and his many nieces and nephews. Tom leaves behind a huge extended family with many happy memories. He was preceded in death by his father, Leo Raymond Simon.

A celebration of Tom’s life will take place this summer in June.
