SENTENCE: Everybody loses

| January 16, 2019 12:00 AM

Per the Coeur d’Alene Press article of Jan. 12, following a fatal crash in 2017 for which Mr. Swan was responsible, he was allowed to plea bargain down from the original charge of felony manslaughter and felony DUI to aggravated DUI, allowing the judge to order probation only and loss of driving privilege for five years.

With this lesser charge, where is the accountability for Mr. Swan? And the deterrent for future drivers to prevent similar actions?

And above all, where is the justice for 16-year-old Jacob Leeder?
