Jim Yetter, 79

James Herbert Yetter passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2019. Jim was born Oct. 29, 1939, in Warren, Minn., son of J. Forrest and Cecilia Yetter. Jim was the third of four children born. Jim had three siblings: Richard, Thomas and a sister, Joan, who are all deceased.

Jim joined the Marine Corps in 1957. He served four years. Jim was part of the 9th Marines and 1st Force Recon at Camp Pendleton, Calif.

In 1965, Jim and Marie Schriber married and had two sons, Matt and Luke. Jim graduated valedictorian from Lincoln College Prep in Philadelphia. Jim completed his master’s degree in social work from Eastern Washington University in 1988. Jim worked as a licensed therapist for the last 16 years for Spokane mental health and SPARC (Spokane Addiction Recovery Center). Jim had a heart and passion for people with addictions. Jim dedicated a large portion of his life helping those with drug and alcohol struggles.

In addition to Jim’s two sons, there are eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Jim enjoyed celebrating their birthdays and holidays together. Jim had several enjoyments: the outdoors, camping, fishing, mountain biking and playing tennis. Jim also had a passion for wood working and enjoyed making his kids and grandkids furniture from scratch.

Jim led a life of generosity, integrity, honor and respect and he will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

A private memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, at Real Life Ministries in Post Falls, Idaho for family and friends of Jim.
