'Aureum' brings acrobatics to Kroc Center Theater
An aerial and acrobatic adventure tale will be performed for two nights at the Salvation Army Kroc Center Theater in Coeur d’Alene.
Produced by Halcyon, a performance group dedicated to creating a new genre in theater known as theatrical acrobatics, “Aureum” will be presented Friday, Jan. 25 and Saturday, Jan. 26 at 7:30 p.m. at the Kroc Center. Tickets are on sale now.
“The show has already had such a positive reception, we’ve already had to add a second show to accommodate the audience,” said Trigger Weddle, the Kroc’s theater and events manager.
Theatrical acrobatics seamlessly integrates compelling storytelling and characters with world-class acrobatics and aerial routines.
“Aureum” combines these elements with an original soundtrack and high-flying technical elements generally seen only in stadium venues.
The story itself involves the benevolent White Queen, her warrior guardian, the Red Empress and a young academic. Dark powers threaten the tranquil world of Aureum, and its inhabitants must find a way to protect it at all costs.
It is a tale of magic, treachery and of finding love in the most unusual places.
Tickets are $25-50 and available at: The Salvation Army Kroc Center Theater Box Office, 1765 W. Golf Course Road in Coeur d’Alene or online at kroccda.org/tickets or by calling 208-763-0681. The Kroc Theater Box Office is open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday.
