DALTON: Support for council

As a longtime property owner in Dalton Gardens, I am in complete support of current community ordinances. Nonetheless, I cannot help but admire the foresight of the Streeter family to subdivide their property some 40 years ago before those ordinances were enacted.

Likewise, I recognize that the mayor and City Council have served the best interests of our community by negotiating a reasonable compromise reducing the local impact from multiple additional units to a single home.

Instead of facing a recall election, the elected officials of Dalton should be commended for their prudence and fiscal responsibility on behalf of the residents of Dalton. I hope that common sense and cooler heads will prevail in the coming election.
