Post Falls third after first day of Rollie Lane

NAMPA — Roddy Romero (98 pounds), Ridge Lovett (132) and Tyler Morris (160) advanced to the semifinal round for Post Falls, which is third with 116.5 points after the first day of the Rollie Lane Invitational at the Ford Idaho Center on Friday.

Crook County (Ore.) leads with 143 points.

Lane Reardon (120), Isaac Jessen (126), A.J. De La Rosa (138), Mathias De La Rosa (145), Wyatt Shelly (170) and Terran Sharbrough (285) remain alive in the consolation bracket for Post Falls.

Gunner Giulio advanced to the semifinals at 152 pounds for Coeur d’Alene, which is 12th with 78.5 points.

“All of our guys battled their butts off,” Coeur d’Alene coach Jeff Moffat said. “We’re making progress. All of the guys wrestled tough. If we get everyone healthy, we should be in good shape.”

Dylan Moffat (106), Dom Jessos (113), Hunter Schueller (126), Nolan Randles (138), Mitchell Moffat (160) and Nick Dohm (182) are still alive in the consolation bracket for Coeur d’Alene.

Sam Edelblute (126) was the lone semifinalist for Lakeland, which is ninth with 86.5 points.

Isaiah Evans (126) and Joey Follini advanced to the semifinals for Timberlake, which is tied for 20th with 60 points.

A separate girls tournament was added this year, and is led by Post Falls with 43 points after Brelane Huber (120), Taylor Cook (138/145) and Jaselyn Jones (138/145) advanced to the semifinals.

Lake City eighth after first day

at PNW Classic

SPOKANE VALLEY — Lake City is tied for eighth with 14 points after the first day of the Pacific Northwest Classic at University High.

Devin Sorrelle (120 pounds), Ricky Thomas (132), Elijah Mills (170), Jared Dan (182), Logan Parson (220) and Connor Dremann (220) won opening round matches for Lake City. Five others receiving opening round byes to advance.

The tournament concludes today.
