Romero, a sophomore, won the 98-pound title in the Tri-State Invitational on Dec. 15, beating Landen Stewart of Frenchtown (Mont.) by a 5-2 decision. “He’s a really hard-nosed kid,” Post Falls coach Pete Reardon said. “He’s got some attitude and an edge to him. He came out all weekend and felt his opponents out, and just took it to them. Once he got his hands on them, he was really good all weekend. I was really pleased with how he wrestled. He put a lot of points on the board.”
