Lyle Idor Ekness, 81

Lyle Ekness, 81, passed away Dec. 13, 2019, at his home in Post Falls. He was born Aug. 7, 1938, to Idor and Julia in Ambrose in North Dakota. He was the fourth of three brothers and a sister.

Lyle is survived by his wife, Joyce, of 56 years; brother, Allan Ekness of Westby, Mont.; sister, Aurlie Samsel of Billings, Mont.; daughters Dawn of Albany, Ore. and Julie of Edmonton, Canada; sons Kevin of Post Falls, Keith of Hayden Lake and Kyle of Spirit Lake, Idaho; along with their spouses and children. Lyle was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Delmer and Sherman.

A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 3, 2020, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 625 E. Haycraft Ave., Coeur d’Alene. A reception will follow the service.
