Hunters and other interested members of the public have until Jan. 12 to offer their input on Fish and Game’s newly proposed 2020-2025 Moose Management Plan. The six-year moose plan will help guide the department in how best to protect and manage moose populations in Idaho, as well as develop season setting recommendations.

The plan is available on the Fish and Game website.

The final draft, which will include public comments, will be presented March 19 and 20 at a Fish and Game commission meeting in Boise.

The updated plan will address declining moose populations in some parts of the state, including potential causes of the declines, according to Fish and Game, It will also ensure harvest opportunities while maintaining stable to increasing moose populations statewide, according to Fish and Game.
