CHRISTMAS: Staging true spirit

| December 18, 2019 12:00 AM

Due to the kindness and generosity of Laura Little Theatricals, my wife and I were blessed with free admission to experience “Traditions of Christmas” at the Kroc Center on opening night, Dec 13. As usual, the wonderful show did not disappoint, with 500 costumes, more than 65 cast members young and old, with song and dance to delight one’s heart and soul! If you have a difficult time finding the “Christmas Spirit,” one need look no further than “Traditions.” The cast and crew were remarkable, and the performance was strikingly flawless from start to finish.

Having been a member of the cast three years ago, I know firsthand how hard each person has to work to learn the many songs, harmony, acting, dancing and choreography that mesh together seamlessly on stage. Auditions are held in August, with rehearsals beginning shortly thereafter.

The cast are unpaid, which boggles my mind at times, knowing the amount of time and dedication each person invests to put the show together, bringing holiday cheer and happiness to our community! The tribute to our military and, of course, the ultimate meaning of Christmas are expressed so thoughtfully, as well as the many Christmas favorites we all so enjoy.

And I must offer a heartfelt congratulations to the producer, Laura Little, who was recently married. So do yourself a favor and immerse your spirit in the “Traditions of Christmas” experience. You’ll be thankful you did!
