COEUR d’ALENE — Coeur d’Alene opened the season with a pair of dual victories, beating Pullman 62-16 and East Valley 78-12 at Coeur d’Alene High on Tuesday.
“We wrestled really tough against East Valley,” Coeur d’Alene coach Jeff Moffat said. “We had a lot of young guys in their tonight, and gave some guys some chances at the varsity level and all of them got wins. They did a really good job and we were pleased for it being the first match of the year. Our conditioning wasn’t very good, and we made a lot of mistakes from young kids. It’s going to be a work in progress, but I like where we’re starting off.”

Coeur d’Alene competes at the Inland Empire Classic at Central Valley High in Spokane Valley starting on Friday.
