Caden Hess

Lake City High

Hess, a senior, won the 113-pound championship at the Owen Invitational on Saturday at Salish Kootenai College in Pablo, Mont., improving his record to 5-0 on the season. Hess defeated Frenchtown’s Eli Warner by pin in 5 minutes, 28 seconds for the win. “Caden looked great all weekend,” Lake City coach Corey Owen said. “That kid beat him two years ago, but Caden just dominated the match, and the entire tournament. He made some huge improvements over the summer. Caden took him down twice, and the improvements he’s made has made a huge difference.”
