COEUR d’ALENE — Madi Symons scored a team-high 17 points for the Coeur d’Alene Vikings in a 53-46 win over the Lewis and Clark Tigers of Spokane on Wednesday at Viking Court.

“We came out pretty tight,” Coeur d’Alene coach Nicole Symons said. “Our defense was solid, but offensively, we played very sloppy. We are pushing our players to play a fast pace game, and at times we are making rushed decisions that are leading to turnovers.”

Skylar Burke scored 12 points for Coeur d’Alene (4-0), which hosts Rogers of Spokane on Friday.

“Each game we are improving and learning to play together,” Nicole Symons said. “The area that we really strugged tonight was from the free-throw line. Leading into this game, we were shooting around 81 percent, and tonight we were 33 percent (12 for 36). But the girls kept fighting and learning to win, even when the ball isn’t bouncing our way.”

Andie Zylak scored 18 points for Lewis and Clark.
