OUTBACK: Hoping for the best

With regard to the Bits column by Nil Rosdahl published in my favorite newspaper Dec. 1, I am concerned about the staff of the Outback restaurant. Was it necessary for corporate to shut it down this close to Christmas? Is this the way it had to be? Please tell me the staff got a great severance deal!
