GUNS: The war is real

In response to Jeffery Coulter’s letter on Nov. 29 Guns, NRA of old is gone. Jeffery states that “it is untrue that our government would ever try to remove guns from law abiding citizens.”

The facts do not support his statement. Go to YouTube and search “Hurricane Katrina gun confiscation.” Watch the video of law enforcement knocking down an old lady in her home to take her gun. That was just one of many guns that were confiscated on the order of the mayor of New Orleans.

Jeffery has not listened to political candidates running for president and what they are saying they will do about guns. Jeffery also has not been paying attention to what is happening to cities and states being run by liberal politicians. These places are outlawing guns in every way that they can. Preventing law abiding citizens from being able to purchase guns and ammunition and from even bringing those items into their cities and states. The highest crime rate is in cities and states that are trying to take away all guns. Notice these are in places that are run by liberals.

There is a war on guns. For the last 40 years there has been a war on drugs. Are we even close to eliminating illegal drugs from our streets in the those 40 years? The answer is no, so a war on guns is only going to disarm the law abiding citizens.

This seems to break down to liberal and conservative views as does most everything. Tell me what city that has had years of liberal rule that you would like to live in. Baltimore, Detroit, Chicago, New Orleans, San Francisco. Wake up before it is too late!

I don’t believe the NRA is spreading paranoia, only the truth.
