GROWTH: PF worth following
My hope is that Coeur d’Alene city leaders would follow suit with what the Post Falls leaders are promoting: stopping uncontrolled residential growth.
The historic, original areas of the city are being turned into row houses on Sherman. Many homes being torn down and new structures filling the lot from alley to sidewalk, everywhere you walk.
None of these new homes is affordable by locals, pushing our taxes sky high and causing an influx of folks from other states who don’t share the values of longtime residents.
It would be wise to step back, curb the proliferation of new towers, apartments and condos, and focus on providing affordable housing for Idahoans. Then, our kids could opt to remain living nearby and us oldsters could afford to stay in our homes.
