Tim Hogan, 58
Timothy Wayne Hogan, 58, passed away on the morning of June 6, 2019, at his home in North Carolina, after a gradual decline in health. Tim was born in Coeur d’Alene on June 9, 1960, to Sandi Hull and Ronnnie Hogan. He lived most of his life in Idaho, raised his children in Arizona and spent his final years in North Carolina, where his son, Craig Hogan, cared for him every day.
He graduated from Coeur d’Alene High School in 1979. Tim spent more than 30 years as a roofer and loved his career. He would even dream about putting on shingles and act it out while he slept.
He was married to Kari Hogan for 18 years before their divorce. He welcomed her two sons into his life as his own, and they went on to have a daughter and son together. They also welcomed the son of a family friend who had passed away into their lives and have thought of him as family ever since. His children were the most important part of his life. He was always so excited to hear about any new nieces, nephews or grandchildren.
Tim wanted to be the best PaPa to his grandchildren and loved to spoil them any chance he got. Some of his favorite things were playing with all the kids, floating the river, going to the lake, watching sporting events with the family, and (of course) baseball.
He loved to coach baseball and some of the best memories came from coaching all four of his kids. When Tim’s kids were younger, he would spend 8-10 hours a day at the baseball field between practice and games. He even went on to coach his nieces and nephews after his children had grown. His favorite team was the Atlanta Braves and as his health declined, he started working on his bucket list to visit all of the MLB stadiums with his kids. He made it to nine stadiums before he passed, with plans to continue the trips in spirit with his children. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.
Tim is survived by his siblings, Russell Hogan, Howard Hogan, Renee Hoops and Donnie Hull; his children, Victoria (Hogan) Haynie, Craig Hogan, Bret Polegay, Brad Polegay and Phillip Krausch; his 11 grandchildren and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother, Sandi Hull; his step-father, Loren “Butch” Hull and his brother, Scott Hull.
A celebration of life reception will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, 2019, at his brother Howard’s residence: 6864 N. Mount Carrol St., Dalton Gardens, ID 83815. Tim will be delivered to the final resting place of his choice over Lake Coeur d’Alene by his children.
Food will be served at the reception. It will be an informal event. Please come with stories, jokes, and to have a good time — just like Tim would want.
