Cardinals go 6-0 at season-opening friendlies
SPRINGFIELD, Ore. — The North Idaho College volleyball team beat Skagit Valley 25-16, 25-11 and Tacoma 25-27, 25-12, 15-5 on Sunday to finish 6-0 at the season-opening Northwest Athletic Conference Friendlies at the Bob Keefer Center.
On Saturday, NIC beat Clark 25-16, 25-12, Centralia 25-6, 25-12, Bellevue 15-25, 25-16, 15-6 and Lane 25-14, 25-14.
All matches were best-of-3 sets.
“This weekend was a great start for our girls,” NIC coach Kelsey Stanley said. “We learned so much about ourselves and also as a team. It’s so fun and refreshing to watch a team play for one another and not for themselves.
“I look forward to getting back on the court and working with this group because they are very eager to learn. Our conference looks tough again and we can’t wait to get things rolling.”
NIC returns to action at the University of Providence tournament Sept. 5-7 in Great Falls, Mont.
