Adams earns Yamaha Master Tech Certification

Matt Adams, a Spirit Lake native and 14-year employee of Tobler Marina in Hayden, has earned the Yamaha Master Technician Certification, a designation held by only about 500 technicians in the nation.

To earn the title, experienced marine technicians must successfully complete six 40-hour courses before becoming eligible to take the Master Technician Exam.

“Technicians that have obtained Yamaha’s Master Technician status have worked hard to hone their knowledge of Yamaha outboard engine operating systems, proper installation, and service and maintenance procedures, plus troubleshooting skills,” said a news release that noted Adams is the only Yamaha Master Tech in the state of Idaho.

Adams said he appreciates the opportunity to attend the rigorous training.

“My biggest take away for me was acknowledging the resources around me to get the job done right. This goes for the tech program and Tobler Marina,” Adams said.

Brent Christian, Tobler Marina owner, said continuous education and career development take commitment and hard work by both team member and the dealership.

“It takes dedication to care for the products we sell and keep people out maximizing their time boating,” Christian said.
