Vernon Y. Quinn

Vernon Y. Quinn passed away April 4, 2019, at his home. He was born Dec. 27, 1929, in Blackfoot, Idaho, to Marcus and Edna Stewart Quinn.

He served in the United States Air Force from July 8, 1948, to July 7, 1952. This was during the Korean War.

His hobbies were lapidary (cutting and polishing of precious stones), woodworking (functional, fun and decorative wood), camping, hunting and fishing.

He would commonly be found helping other people and serving in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Jane Treibwasser Quinn; his parents and his sisters and brother, Mary Kay Akers, Viki Jo Quinn, Barbara (James) Custer and Dennis (Ce) Treibwasser.

He is survived by sisters, Sherry (Dorian) Larson, Marcia (Dee) Baxter and Ame (Tim) Cochnauer; children, John (Shirley) Bischoff, Jackie Parr, Bob (Nancy) Quinn, John (Patty) Quinn and Dennis Quinn; grandchildren, John (Marlo) Bischoff, Shelly (Tony) Siegel, Casey (Zac) Vincent, Robyn (Dale) Davis, Phillip (Deena) Quinn James, Sheri, Robert, David, Chris and Corey; great-grandchildren, Jahrhad, Devin, Cody, Shyla, Levi, Logan and Jaylyn and 18 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2019, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 15151 N. Meyer Road, Rathdrum, ID 83858. A public viewing will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, April 26, 2019, at the Hayden Funeral Home and Gathering Center, 373 E. Hayden Ave., Hayden, ID 83835.
