Tubbs Hill bones are very old

| April 23, 2019 12:54 PM

The human bones found on Tubbs Hill last month did not end up there recently.

The Coeur d’Alene Police Department reports that expert analysis has determined the remains are “historical” and are at least 200 years old, and possibly more than 1,000 years old.

“Taking into consideration the considerable passage of time, there is no information about the identity of the remains or cause of death,” said a news release issued Tuesday by the department.

A hiker reported finding a large bone on Tubbs Hill on March 28. Coeur d’Alene police investigated and found additional bones that appeared to all be from one human.
