Charlene ‘Chickie’ Bolton, 91

Charlene “Chickie” Bolton passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2019, at Schneidmiller Hospice House in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, surrounded by her loving family. Chickie was born in Butte, Mont., on Dec. 14, 1927, to Charles and Betty (Evans) Lilly. She was the fourth of five children. Chickie was educated in Butte. She married Charles Case in Butte in 1949; they later divorced. They had four children together.

Chickie met Marvin Bolton, the love of her life, in 1970. They were married in 1971. Mom worked as an auditor-bookkeeper for Woolworth in uptown Butte for many years. She was then employed as an auditor at Metals Bank, which then became US Bank, until she retired.

Marvin and Chickie loved camping at Wise River, Mont., with all of her extended family. They also loved gardening. We moved Mom to Coeur d’Alene in 1999 following the death of Marvin in 1993. Several of her grandsons helped build her sweet home. She loved to garden there as well.

Chickie was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Irene Carl, Calla Button and Mary Lou Picard and brother, Carl Haining. She joins her beloved daughter, Susan Case Ohka, as well as Marvin Bolton.

She is survived by her daughters, Sarahyl Konda and Sharmon Schmitt and her husband, Don and son, Michael Case, all of Coeur d’Alene; her grandchildren, Tony Konda, Chris Konda, Sherrie Prangley and Eric Ohka of Oklahoma, Saryl Case, Michaela Case, Brittny Case, Troy Lehti and Nathan Conley; and numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She had a special place in her heart for Brandy Schultz.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 19, 2019, at Yates Funeral Home - Coeur d’Alene Chapel, 744 N. Fourth St., Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. In lieu of flowers we would ask that donations be made to Schneidmiller Hospice House, 2290 W. Prairie Ave., Coeur d’Alene, ID 83815, or Kootenai Health Foundation, www.kootenaihealthfoundation.org, or Our Lady of the Rockies, www.ourladyoftherockies.net.

Her ashes will be interred with Marvin and Susan at a later date in Butte.
