They’re wild and crazy guys, and they’re about to be let loose.

Yes, the police department and censorship squad have both been alerted.

Big Man of CDA, a special evening featuring local men competing in a women’s beauty pageant, takes place Saturday at the Eagles Ballroom, 209 Sherman Ave. in downtown Coeur d’Alene. All proceeds benefit Coeur d’Alene Summer Theatre.

Doors open at 6 for cocktail hour; the show begins at 7. Tickets are $25.

“We have some amazing guys who are going the distance to make this a fun evening for Coeur d’Alene,” said Tracey Vaughan, Coeur d’Alene Summer Theatre’s executive director.

The distance could end up well beyond the bounds of what civilized people consider sensible. There’s a dance number featuring the umbrella-wielding gentlemen, a talent competition, evening gown and swimsuit segments and more.

Just how wild is it going to get? While thong bikinis have been outlawed, thank the lord, audience members should prepare for shock and awe.

According to Vaughan:

- Ryan Bones live-streamed his waxing session.

- Marvin Sears is going to allow his top sponsor to trash his dress after the event … with him still in it.

- Mike Patrick is the heavy favorite to win the cutest umbrella award (you’ll see — no spoilers!).

- James Perkinson might get us all out and voting again.

- Duncan Menzies’ busy schedule meant he had to cross two states with a suitcase full of costumes.

- Andreas John and David Fleischman are working on ways around the liquor laws.

- Shane Greenfield keeps asking if the evening can be rated R — at minimum;

- And Larry Bieber retorted during rehearsal, “I am hot, sweaty, and angry.”
