Little vetoes voter initiative legislation

| April 5, 2019 11:38 AM

Gov. Brad Little has vetoed SB1159, which would have made it more difficult for Idahoans to succeed in getting initiatives and referendums on election ballots.

Little said, in his transmittal letter to the lieutenant governor, that he plans to veto the trailer bill also.

He said that while he supports the intent of the proposed legislation, he is “reluctantly” not signing it into law because he questions its constitutionality and because of potential unintended consequences.
