| April 5, 2019 1:00 AM

POST FALLS — As part of the Blazen Divaz community service mission, along with their new season kick-off, the group chose the Post Falls Police Victim Services Unit as their annual nonprofit organization to support.

The Blazen Divaz collected and purchased items such as new pajamas, children’s shoes, socks, underwear, blankets, diapers, toiletries, laundry detergent and other sundries by the box and bag full to donate to the Victims Services Unit for distribution to individuals in need.

The Post Falls Police Victim Services Unit is a division within the Post Falls Police Department. The unit provides a variety of services which include a 24-hour crisis line, crime scene response, transport, short-term emergency shelter, legal and medical advocacy, victim witness coordination, assistance with Civil Protection Orders, Legal Aid, and Crime Victims Compensation, court accompaniment, as well as on-going education and outreach.

Although the primary focus of the victims services unit is on family and sexual violence, a Crime Victim Advocate will assist any victim of crime, regardless of age, with support and resources.
