Timberline 6, forfeit

HARRISON FLATS — Tristan Usdrowski capped the Warriors’ lone possession with a 20-yard touchdown reception in a 6-man game against the Spartans of Weippe.

The game was called with a minute remaining in the first quarter after Timberline, which began the night with six healthy players, had two leave the game with injuries and were unable to return.

“We were doing all right, but it’s just kind of a bad deal with low numbers for them,” Kootenai coach Doug Napierala said. “Bad things happen sometimes, and I told their coach I was there last year and know what it feels like.”

Timberline had one of its seven rostered players unable to play due to an ankle injury, then had one leave with a broken collarbone and the third with a concussion.

Kootenai (4-1) travels to Deary next Friday. Timberline is 0-4.
