COMICS: BCN rules!

| September 28, 2018 1:00 AM

I have been a subscriber to The Press for 10 years since we moved here and am an avid follower of certain comics. I regretted when you eliminated the comic with the policeman and the south African connection several years ago (I forget the name). It was sensitive, multiracial and sweet. Then I think we had Phoebe and her Unicorn which left me unimpressed. Then you substituted Wallace the Brave, which is also uninteresting for me, but some may like it. This runs all seven days. “Nancy” leaves me totally cold.

What really has totally blessed me and gives me joy each day is Breaking Cat News. However, that only runs six days, although I can access it on the internet for the Sunday version as well. The Breaking Cat News comic is sweet, wholesome, filled with goodness, and the interesting nature of the Man, the Woman, and the three cats (Lupin, Elvis and Puck). One cat is deaf (Lupin), one three-legged (Puck) and one Siamese (normal, but quirky). The man and the woman are normal humans.

It would be neat if you could arrange for this comic to run for the full seven days, as I am sure it would be good for those, like me, who subscribe to your paper. I look forward to the comic each day it comes and first look for Breaking Cat News. It makes my day.

Thanks for considering my request to make this a permanent seven-day addition to The Press comic section. I recognize there are costs associated with print comics, but would hope The Press could find the money to add Breaking Cat News as a permanent seven-day inclusion in the paper.

Editor’s note: Well, readers, what say you? Breaking Cat News on Sundays? And if so, which existing Sunday comic strip should it replace?
