St. Vincent de Paul receives dental grant

| September 27, 2018 1:00 AM

St. Vincent de Paul North Idaho is among five Idaho dental programs statewide receiving a $1,500 grant from the Idaho Dental Foundation.

The Idaho Dental Foundation gives grants to projects and initiatives that improve the oral health of Idaho’s underserved citizens, including uninsured and low-income Idahoans.

St. Vincent de Paul received its grant in support of its Dental Smiles project, which works to provide dental service options for homeless individuals and veterans in the area. This especially includes those with dental infection, dental pain, extraction needs, and even some denture repair. Grant funding from the Idaho Dental Foundation will go toward a dental care voucher program for veterans, said a news release from the foundation.

“The Idaho Dental Foundation is continually impressed with the many excellent community programs dedicated to improving oral healthcare for Idaho’s underserved,” said Idaho Dental Foundation President Dr. Jack Matunas, in the release. “We selected these organizations because of the tremendous support they provide to their communities.”

Grant applications for the next round of funding are due May 15, 2019.
