SPOKANE — Kaysha Bailey stopped 11 shots for the Cardinals, who played to a draw with the Bigfoot in a Northwest Athletic Conference East Region match at Spokane Falls.

“Kaysha really saved our skins today,” NIC coach Dan Hogan said. “She made several diving saves, pushing the ball wide of the post or tipping the ball over the cross bar. We also got a little lucky as they had a shot that hit the right post, rebounded all the way across the goal mouth to hit the left post and then out in front of the goal where Cidney Bauwens cleared it over the end line. Spokane put more pressure on us than we have seen before and we just couldn’t get any rhythm in our attack and so we ended up playing a lot of defense today.”

NIC (4-3-4, 4-1-2 NWAC) returns to action against Blue Mountain on Oct. 5 in Pendleton, Ore.

Spokane (7-2-2, 5-0-1) leads the East Region, with Yakima Valley and NIC tied for second.

First half — none. Second half — none.

Shots on goal — NIC 3, CCS 24.
