'Candidating' here Oct. 8

| September 25, 2018 1:00 AM

COEUR d’ALENE — The League of Women Voters of Kootenai County is hosting a nonpartisan “Candidating” event for voters to meet and learn about the local candidates on their ballot.

Local candidates from Idaho Legislative Districts 2, 3 and 4 and the Kootenai County races have been invited to have face-to-face interactions with Kootenai County voters at the Coeur d’Alene Public Library Community Room on Monday, Oct. 8 at 6 P.M.

“Candidating” is patterned after both speed dating and the way some churches have their members get to know potential pastors. At the onset of the event, each candidate will give a one-minute background and vision statement to the gathered voters. Each candidate will then join a seated circle of voters and there will be a five-minute Q&A session within the group. After the five minutes are up, a bell will ring and each candidate will move to the next circle of voters.

Information on the invited Legislative Districts 2, 3 and 4 candidates is available at www.lwvkcvoterguide.org.

The League of Women Voters of Kootenai County is a nonpartisan political organization that encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy, neither supporting nor opposing candidates or political parties at any level of government.
