Samuel M. Locke, 58

Samuel M. “Sam” Locke, 58 years, of Rathdrum, Idaho, (formerly of Milton-Freewater, Ore.) passed away Sept. 15, 2018, at his home surrounded by his companion, De Thomes; niece, Tamara Mooney and his best friend, Dave Jones.

A celebration of life will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2018, at Amavi Cellars, 3796 Peppers Bridge Road, Walla Walla, Wash. There will be a private interment in the Milton-Freewater Cemetery. Friends who wish to pay their respects may call at the funeral home from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 28, 2018. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital through the Munselle-Rhodes Funeral Home.

Sam was born Oct. 7, 1959, in Dayton, Wash., the son of Verlon and Ola Mae Stillwell Locke. He was raised in Milton-Freewater, attending local schools and graduating from McLoughlin Union High School in 1978. After his graduation, he attended DeVry Institute of Technology in Arizona. He enjoyed snowmobiling, water skiing, riding motorcycles, traveling, investing and spending time with family and friends. Sam was preceded in death by his father in 1999, his mother in 2013 and his sister, Verlena Lambert in 2010.

He is survived by his son, Christopher Locke; grandson, Samuel Locke; his brother, Tony Locke; and several nieces and nephews.
