ANNIVERSARY

Wayne and Kathleen Kies

75th Anniversary

Sept. 21, 2018, marked the 75th wedding anniversary of Wayne and Kathleen Kies. They celebrated with friends and family in Pocatello.

They met at Boeing, fell in love and married in Seattle 75 years ago. They settled in Coeur d’Alene and raised their four children for more than 55 years. Kathleen worked at what used to be called the North Shore Convention Center and Wayne worked at Kaiser Aluminum. After retirement, they traveled south for 20 years, then settled down in Pocatello.

They have four children: Wayne (Kathy) Kies of Montpelier, Jean (Dennis) Milliken of Pocatello, Kathy Packard of Pocatello and Charles (Denise) Kies of Rathdrum. In addition, they have six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

We all have been truly blessed to have them in our lives.

WEDDING

Derry-Merriman

Kyleen Renae Derry and Russell Harrison Merriman were united in marriage on Sept. 15, 2018, at a private orchard in St. Maries. Kyleen was given in marriage by her father, Peter Derry. Rev. Gar Mickleson officiated the ceremony.

Kyleen is the daughter of Peter and Terrie Derry of St. Maries. She is a graduate of St. Maries High School. Russell is the son of Jane Merriman of Coeur d’Alene and the late Russ Merriman. He is a graduate of Lake City High School.

The wedding party included maid of honor Sheena Derry of St. Maries; best man James A. Hail III of Post Falls; bridesmaids Linsey Derry of St. Maries, Tori Jensen of Coeur d’Alene and Sarah Swanson of Coeur d’Alene; groomsmen Nate Bemis of Seattle, Kelly McNabb of Coeur d’Alene and Talmage Deroches of Coeur d’Alene; flower girls Maci and Maddy, both of St. Maries; ring bearer Lincoln of St. Maries; and ushers Chris McNabb and Ernie Horton.

Music for the ceremony and reception were provided by Rocky.

Kyleen and Russell reside in Post Falls. They plan to honeymoon in Greece.

MILITARY

Fork Union Military Academy, a college-prep, Christian boarding school in Virginia, announced Cadet Quenten E. Sargent was selected to serve as squad leader assigned to Alpha Company at the rank of sergeant. Cadet Sargent, a senior, is the son of Stephen and Mara Sargent of Hauser. He has attended Fork Union Military Academy since August 2016, when he enrolled as a sophomore.
