Coeur d'Alene girls second at Cheney

CHENEY — Coeur d’Alene sophomore Lauren Forster was the top local finisher in the girls race, finishing second in 18 minutes, 16.90 seconds at the second Battle for the 509 Invitational at The Fairways Golf Course on Saturday.

Coeur d’Alene finished second as a team, finishing with 91 points. Post Falls was third with 93 points.

Mountain View junior Lexy Halladay won the girls race in 17:25.80.

Coeur d’Alene senior Chad Humphreys was fourth in the boys race in 16:05.10.

Timberlake at

Firman Invitational

EAGLE — Timberlake senior Abigail Peightal was the top local finisher in 20th place in the Division II race (schols with 799 students and fewer) at the Bob Firman Invitational on Saturday at Eagle Island State Park.

Peightal finished in 20 minutes, 20.10 seconds, followed by teammate Abigail Peightal in 21st in 20:21.60, leading the Tigers to a fourth place finish in the team standings.

Sugar-Salem won the Division II team title.

Other Timberlake finishers included: Sage Gervais (21:17.90), Sydnee Hotmer (21:21.40), Haileyann Johnson (22:16.40), Emma Howard (22:23.30) and Isis Rodriguez (23:15.10).

Timberlake’s Daniel Pahl was 55th in the boys race in 17:47.60 and Travis Plunkett finished in 18:31.40.
